About Us
The New Jersey Electronic Security
Association is the trade association
for the New Jersey Alarm Industry.
Established in 1977, NJESA represents over
250 security alarm companies, manufacturers,
and distributors that do business in the
State of New Jersey.
What we offer the community . . .
Industry Professionals
In the State of New Jersey, contractor
licensing for fire alarm systems started in
June of 2003 through the Department of
Community Affairs in Trenton. In March of
2004, contractor licensing for burglar
alarms and all other security systems,
including fire alarms, became mandatory
through the Department of Consumer Affairs
in Newark. NJESA has been a driving force
in providing information and training to our
members to ultimately protect the consumer.
NJESA always promotes hiring a licensed
contractor.
Our members must adhere to a strong Code of
Ethics, which underscores the importance of
our high standards.
Member Listing
Licensed members of NJESA are listed on the
website. They are your best choice for
quality, reliable security services. You can
also obtain important information to help
make the right decision in the purchasing of
a new burglar or fire alarm system.
Assistance with Municipal and Local
Ordinances
Our members have extensive experience
working with fire departments, first
responders and local government on false
alarms and security issues. Call NJESA for
additional information and local contacts.
Scholarship Program
NJESA proudly awards two
scholarships annually to children of
active-duty police and fire personnel. The
scholarship awards, in the amount of $1,500
for first prize and $1,000 for second prize,
are available to qualified high school
seniors. In addition, the winners of the
state program have gone on to win the
National scholarship awards.
